Fundraising
In the 6 years of Newton-le-Willows ARLFC history and after years of hard work, fundraising, planning committees, opposition and being moved from pillar to post, Newton Storm is delighted to announce that we finally have a home ground at Newton-le-Willows Sports Club having been voted in as an official section.
Many thanks to all Storm members, friends and family who have organised, took part and supported club events. We now have somewhere to call our home and somewhere to spend the money that we have raised.
We look forward to working with all sections at the club, thank them for their support and here's to making Newton-le-Willows Sports Club the best sporting facility in the area.

Halloween Party - October 2007
Many thanks to Ken and Rachel Tinkley for organising yet another brilliant Storm function. A great night was had by all, with prizes galore kindly donated by Rob Nisbet. The Viaduct took on the role of Haunted Dungeon with decorations provided by Christine and Paul Clegg, who along with "TheTinks" and "The Hankeys" also spent the afternoon putting them up. Many thanks to everyone for all their effort, generosity and support.

Membership Fun Day - August 2007
Our Annual Membership Funday took place on Sunday 19th August at Newton Sports Club, Crow lane East, Newton-le-Willows. A fantastic day was had by all who attended, club members and their guests as well as local residents. A brilliant £382 was raised on the day from sales of food, old kits and raffles with representation from all Newton Storm teams for the first time in the club history! A big thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, turned up to help set up and supported the club on the day!
Thank you also to Mike Bennett from Saints who handed out medals to all the children who took part in the tag team tournament.
Drag Night - May 2007
Chairman Paul Eden, parents from the Under 9's Rams and Open Age players got together for a much celebrated "Drag Night" which included a pub crawl collection to raise money for the club's Fund a Field project. £270 was collected in total which is a fantastic effort! Thanks to all the "drags" and to everyone who kindly donated to the cause during the pub crawl! If you were out on the High Street in Newton on 14th April, you are sure to have bumped into everyone! A great night was had by all and is sure to be something that is repeated next year!
Easter Bingo - April 2007
The Easter Bingo was a great success and enjoyed by all those who attended. Many thanks to everyone for their generosity in donating Easter Eggs and helping raise £284.73. Well done to all the winners especially Nathan Arrowsmith who went home with the Star Prize, a 4.5kg Belgian Chocolate Easter Egg!
New Years Eve Family Disco - December 2006
Another successful Storm event was held at the Viaduct on New Years Eve, superbly organised as ever by our “Social Team” Ken & Rachel Tinkley. The evening was enjoyed by Storm members and their guests, with a surprise visit from St Patrick’s Pipe Band and a firework display to welcome in 2007. Well done and many thanks for all their hard work and effort to The Tinks for a fantastic night and raising approx £420 in the process!!
Halloween - October 2006
A big thank you to Ken and Rachel Tinkley and Sharron Lynch who organised such a fantastic Halloween Party. Also thank you to Sharon Wiltshire for the decorations and helping set up the event. A brilliant night was had by everyone and it was a great turnout from club members and their guests. Thanks to everyone who donated prizes to be raffled and well done to Bren and the U16’s who were relentless in selling raffle tickets!!!Total amount raised was a further£355.20 to the Fund a Field Account
Sponsored Walk - September 2006
Newton Storm Coaches, Parents and Players took part in a Sponsored Walk on Sunday 17th September to raise money for the clubs Fund a Field Project. The participants were Malc Hankey, Ken Tinkley, Col Ruston, Ian Wynn, Tracey Cooper, Carl Traynor, Liam Bostock, Pete Cartledge, Mike Strettle, Matt Stafford and Adam Griffiths. Membership Fun-Day - August 2006
The inaugral membership fun day was held on 13th August, with representation from all age groups present. A real carnival atmosphere and a great day was had by all. Thanks to Ken and Rachel Tinkley for organising this very successful event which raised £200 for fund a field. Thanks also to Karen and Sharron of Stardust Catering for not only giving up their time to be there at the event, but also donating the food which was richly enjoyed by all who attended.
Race Night - July 2006
The club held a race night at the Viaduct and raised over £500 for Fund a Field. Thanks to Craig Bailey for organising the event which was a great success.
Fancy Dress Pub Crawl - March 2006
Under 8's Rams and u7's parents along with the club chairman raised £272 towards Fund a Field. Pubs participating included Millstone, Legh Arms, Bluebell, Blue Lion and Oak Tree. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
Sponsored Half Marathon - March 2006
Under 8's Lightning Parents Barry White and Chris Martin ran the Liverpool Half Marathon and raised approx £200 for Fund-a-Field. Well done to both for all their efforts, and to those who sponsored them!
