Newton Storm AGM notification

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 31st August 2010 from 8.30pm at Newton Sports Club. The AGM provides an opportunity for people to volunteer for official roles on the Committee and to shape club policy on finance and fundraising. All members are encouraged to attend.

Service Area Success for our u13's players

Congratulations to the following TEN Newton Storm players who have been selected for the full St Helens RLFC Service Area programme at u13's, which starts in September:

A fantastic achievement for all these players who attended the Saints development camp over summer and managed to gain entry to the full Service Area programme. This is the first time that Newton Storm has had any representation at Service Area level and speaks volumes for the club's junior development strategy.

Newton Rugby Festival

Newton Storm Festival of Rugby took place on Sunday 8th August and was played out by 14 teams across 4 age groups (u8, u10, u11 and u13). The weather stayed fine and a great time was had by all.

Thank you to everyone who attended - players, coaches and parents alike - and especially those who helped us organise and deliver a great first festival. Well done to festival organisers Martin Darwin and Ken Tinkley who did a sterling job. The Club look forward to welcoming everyone back again next year..

U10's Team Building Day

Newton Storm u10 enjoyed a fantastic day out at their end of season teambuilding day. Storm's 'Team of the year' were rewarded for the hard work during the season with a fun day out that included wall climbing, high ropes course, raft building and rifle shooting. The team were a credit to the club.

Saints Recognise Storm Success

Newton Storm have received the RFL’s Clubmark Gold Status. The hard work of the Newton committee and in particular Craig Bailey led to the club gaining the accolade which demonstrates their commitment and effort in providing a first class Rugby League facility to the Community of Newton-le-Willows.

“It was a great honour to achieve such an accolade,” Club Chairman Paul Eden said. “I hope that the continued development work that the club is doing in the surrounding district, coupled with this Award can be another milestone in our progress. “I’d like to thank Steve Leonard for his support and Gordon Pennington and Saints for their hospitality.”
