CUBS CAMP A HUGE SUCCESS
Newton Storm Cubs Camp got off to a flying start on Saturday 15th May with over 30 local children aged 4-6 in attendance. Storm coaches Paul and Debbie French were joined by Paul Sculthorpe and Saints mascot Boots who also joined in the fun! Thanks also to some of the players from older Storm Age Groups who turned up to lend a hand!
Storm partnered with Steve Leonard (Service Area Co-Ordinator) and the Saints Community Coaches to launch the cubs camp, aiming to give children the chance to experience rugby skills in a fun and friendly environment.
Cubs Camp runs every Saturday at Newton Sports Club, Crow Lane from 10am-11am.
Children aged 4-6 are welcome to come along and join in the fun - please contact Paul or Debbie French on 07837 768124 to book your FREE place.

NEWTON STORM ACHIEVE GOLD STANDARD!
Newton Storm are delighted to announce that we have achieved CLUBMARK GOLD status with the RFL which is fantastic news for the club.

Having already reached Clubmark status, we opted to set an even higher benchmark for ourselves and thanks to the sterling work of club secretary Craig Bailey and other members of the committee, we have been awarded this highly sought after recognition which demonstrates that we are a high quality and well managed amateur rugby league club.
Sport England Clubmark sets generic criteria for national governing bodies of sport to accredit their clubs against in order to create safe, effective, and child friendly environments. Clubs who achieve Clubmark Gold Status are officially ‘rubber stamped’ as being a quality club, having all the right procedures, policies, action plans and coaches with relevant qualifications in place, ensuring the club has a ‘safe, effective and child friendly environment’, and are known as “A Quality Assured Rugby League Club”.
High profile sponsor extends support for u10's
Newton Storm u10's would like to thank Bruce Hatton from Hattons Solicitors for sponsoring new warm up tops for the team.
Eight Storm Players selected for u12's Service Area
Congratulations to the following u12's players who have been selected for the St Helens Service Area development camp for 6 weeks in June and July:
Ciaran Ellison
Jordan Clegg
Brad Billsborough
Daniel O'Neill
Harry Green
Paul Johnson
Josh Hankey
Kieran Quinn
The Service Area camp is an opportunity for these players to continue to develop their core skills through a intense series of training sessions with professional coaches from the St Helens Club.
This is a great achievement for these players and Im sure they will represent our club very well.
There is still an opportunity for other u12s players to force their way onto the full service area programme when it starts in September so a lot of hard work is in store over the summer!
