Newton Storm Funding Success

Newton Storm ARLFC are delighted to announce that Awards for All have approved a grant application for the club at a value of nearly £9,000.
The funding will pay for the delivery of coaching sessions for Y1-Y6 children in all 11 primary schools where we have an official school/club link. Within the next 12 months, over 500 children will be taught rugby league skills by Newton Storm coaches, who in the past have needed to take time off from work to undertake schools coaching a voluntary basis.
Coaching sessions can start in September 2008 throughout the next school year and the funding also includes for a summer rugby festival in June 2009.
We put a lot of hard work into the application and are delighted with the news from Awards for All. This is a great catalyst for our player recruitment over the next 12 months and will certainly help raise awareness of Newton Storm ARLFC amongst the children in the town.
Thanks to Malc Hankey for putting the application together, Treasurer Ken Tinkley for providing the supporting information and to Steve Sexton (St Helens RLFC) who kindly acted as a reference for the club.
An announcement has been made by Awards for All about an number of successes in the area, with Storm the lead story. The news has been picked up by the St Helens Star website:
